The Sun and The Air

Good Posts 2025-09-07

Been an odd week, had a small management change at work and it's pretty significantly changed how my day-to-day job operates. Not a bad thing, but I've been a little pressed for time. What time I have had has been largely absorbed by my FALLSTRUKTUR obsession, but I still saw some good stuff on the internet.

Abandon (Your Self Image Of Your Being Good At) Multitasking - Talen Lee

Realising that my need to have 2 activities going on at a time was actually a need to drown out the buzzing in my brain was a really effective step in solving the buzzing in my brain, an ongoing but progressful task.

The Media's Pivot to AI Is Not Real and Not Going to Work - Jason Koebler (404 Media)

A generally good article from the perspective of someone very much in the blast zone of the AI-content storm. The latter half starts going on a weird line about the inevitability of it all and makes some unevidenced claims like:

We—yes, even you—are using some version of AI, or some tools that have LLMs or machine learning in them in some way shape or form already, even if you hate such tools.

I think this is kind of cowardly given how much effort many of us are making to actively excise such tools from our lives.

That said, it's still a good read, just an odd turn.

Sorry, this post is just going to make you sad - Laura Michet

The face I made when I got to the 2nd paragraph quotes was something else. Disgust and second-hand shame.

What's fascist about a national flag? - theTangentSpace

A good explainer of not just what's happening but why it differs from other flag-based protests.

The national flag is fascist because it is being used by fascists.

I'm not in England so I haven't been seeing the flag shit much, but from people I know there the general vibe of intimidation has been real unpleasant.

I guess my retirement is coming sooner than I thought - DarkViperAU

This explains the situation with the algorithm shit everyone's been talking about on YouTube, and also gives some of Matt's usual wider-lens perspective on the situation. It's wild that YouTube still gets to do this to so many people they build their business upon without consequence.

Portal - Jumpless TAS in 7:52.440 - evanlin96069 (SourceRuns)

Very cool run. As someone who used to run No OoB I found it mostly pretty readable but I don't know how well it would translate for a lay viewer.

WWF SLAMMY AWARDS 1987 - Wrestle Me Review

Second time watching this review and it cracks me up so much, just a gleeful revisit of a bizarre moment in wrestling history.
